Jackie, graduated with her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Radford University in 2016, after earning her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Jackie has always had a natural way with children and gained more experience throughout her undergraduate years, as a teachers assistant with ages 18 months-5 years at the VCU Child Development Center. Prior to joining Good Beginnings, Jackie provided occupational therapy services at an outpatient pediatric clinic serving toddlers, children, and young adults. As a practitioner, Jackie is energetic, creative, reflective, and collaborative. She believes that children learn best through play so she takes pride in developing unique therapy sessions that are fun and engaging but also goal-oriented, directed at the specific needs and interests of each child. Jackie is formally certified in many innovative treatment techniques including, Astronaut Training Protocol, Interactive Metronome, and The Listening Program. Her other areas of training include Sensory Integration, posture and movement, primitive reflex integration, functional vision, feeding, and DIR Floortime. Jackie also has experience within the hospital and community settings, providing occupational therapy services to adults with physical, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.
